This November, The Sporting Globe opens in Greensborough, and it’s set to become the flagship of the Sporting Globe brand.

Multi-level. Sports bar. Gaming. Big screens everywhere you look, with private booths and live sport from around the world, from AFL, cricket and rugby to basketball, UFC and everything in between.

We’re building a brand-new kitchen team from the ground up, and we want food lovers and sports fans who want to be part of it from day one.

THE ROLES

👨‍🍳 Head Chef
Lead our flagship kitchen with the autonomy to make it your own. You’ll hand-pick and build your BOH team, set the standards and shape the kitchen culture from opening day, working in partnership with the Venue Manager. You’ll own food quality, costs, labour, stock and compliance, backed by the full support of our group operations team.

🔥 Sous Chef
Work side by side with the Head Chef to build the crew and get our new kitchen running at its best. You’ll lead the team through service, support ordering, stock and food costs, coach the people around you, and run the kitchen when the Head Chef is away. This role comes with a clear pathway to Head Chef.

🍔 Line Cooks & Cooks
Join a brand-new team in a well-resourced, well-organised kitchen. You’ll prepare, cook and present our menu to recipe and plating standards across all stations, including prep, fry, grill, salad and dessert. It’s a great place to sharpen your skills, learn from experienced chefs and grow your career.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in a busy kitchen, with the level of experience matched to the role you’re applying for
• Confidence across core cooking techniques, including grilling, deep frying, shallow frying, and preparing meat, seafood and poultry
• Pride in consistency, presentation and following recipe and plating guides
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and OH&S, and a commitment to keeping the kitchen clean and organised
• A team-first attitude and a positive, can-do approach
• For leadership roles, experience managing a team, allocating sections and duties, and running kitchen operations
