We’re the team behind The Sporting Globe, TGI Fridays, and Varsity, with 50+ locations (and growing) across Australia. As we continue to go far and go together, we’re seeking an Audio Visual Service Technician to lead our projects and service operations, ensuring exceptional delivery and client satisfaction across all our brands. How will you play to win? In this hands-on technical role, you’ll support the stability, reliability and performance of our venue AV systems. You’ll work closely with our AV Operations Manager, venue managers and external vendors to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and an exceptional in-venue experience. This role blends remote troubleshooting with scheduled onsite venue work across Victoria (and occasionally interstate). What You’ll Be Doing Service & Support Provide daily technical support for venue AV systems, including control, distribution, displays, audio and switching. Act as first-level and mid-tier escalation for support tickets, troubleshooting remotely wherever possible. Maintain clear communication with venue teams to diagnose issues, manage expectations and confirm resolutions. Assist with health checks, firmware updates, system testing and preventative maintenance activities. Track recurring issues and escalate patterns with recommendations for permanent solutions. Maintain accurate documentation, including system diagrams, configuration files and device inventory.
Technical Responsibilities Troubleshoot RTI, Crestron and QSC control and DSP systems (experience in programming adjustments highly advantageous). Configure audio routing, control logic, AV over IP devices and network-connected equipment. Support digital signage, matrix systems, amplifiers and venue audio infrastructure. Work alongside IT to support network-integrated AV systems. Log configuration changes, firmware versions and updates to maintain reliable asset history.
Projects & Maintenance Contribute to minor upgrades, replacements and patch-through work across venues. Assist in commissioning and handovers for smaller installation or upgrade projects. Support the delivery of the preventative maintenance program across 50+ venues.
Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement Liaise with venue managers to clarify issues and provide clear service updates. Coordinate with third-party integrators for escalations or onsite requirements. Represent SHG professionally during all venue visits and vendor interactions.
What You’ll Bring Strong AV technical support background, ideally in hospitality or multi-site environments. Hands-on experience with RTI, Crestron, QSC and AV over IP systems. Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and signal-path issues calmly and logically. Confident with remote-access tools and guiding non-technical staff through steps. Clear communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into simple language. Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel between venues. Ability to work independently while contributing to a small, high-performing team.
Why Join Us? Work with major national brands across a large-scale AV environment. Influence and uplift AV service standards across a fast-growing venue network. Collaborative, fun and supportive Support Office team culture. Opportunities for growth, development and exposure to innovative tech projects. Brand perks, discounts, and involvement in exciting entertainment & hospitality experiences.
