As we continue growing across the country, we're looking for a dynamic, people-centred General Manager of Operations to lead operational excellence across the Varsity network and play a pivotal role in one of the most exciting chapters in our group's history.

Varsity has built a loyal following and a reputation for premium, experience-led venues in Western Australia. Now, we're bringing it East.

This is a rare opportunity to be the operational architect of that expansion, taking a proven concept and helping bring it to life in new markets across the East Coast, from the ground up.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading a high-performing national operations function, including Operations Managers, Area Managers and Training Representatives, to build capability, consistency, and a strong performance culture across all venues.
• Playing a lead role in the East Coast expansion of Varsity, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate the brand's West Australian success into new markets, ensuring the culture, energy and standards that make Varsity special are embedded from day one.
• Coaching venue leaders through business reviews, strategy planning, and operational standards to ensure every Varsity runs profitably and to the highest brand standard.
• Driving national guest experience outcomes by elevating product quality, service execution, and brand standards to deliver a market-leading venue experience.
• Taking ownership of sales growth, operational KPIs, COGS and labour performance, using data and insights to guide decisions and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring compliance across liquor licensing, health and safety, and national audit requirements to uphold our licence to operate and protect the brand.
• Leading the operational delivery of new venue openings and greenfield projects, ensuring every launch is smooth, aligned, and set up for immediate success.

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years' experience in multi-site hospitality leadership, ideally with a pub, bar or entertainment venue background and a strong track record driving operational KPIs.
• Proven experience delivering new venue openings or greenfield projects, you know what it takes to launch a venue the right way and build a team from scratch.
• The vision and energy to help scale a concept into new markets, with the operational discipline to make it stick.
• Experience leading company-owned venue networks, with the ability to build trusted, high-performing teams and hold leaders accountable to clear standards.
• Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of COGS, labour optimisation, and financial performance drivers.
• High-level understanding of compliance across liquor, health, and safety requirements.
• A people-first leadership style that blends coaching, accountability, clear communication, and the ability to inspire high performance.
• A decisive, data-led mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive meaningful improvements across the network.
• The flexibility to travel nationally to support venues and the wider operations team.
